Happy International Women's Day!

Dear girls, women, ladies! Happy International Women's Day! We extend our best wishes to women of all ages across the globe!

In Polish history, there have been numerous remarkable women, but today I'd like to shed light on one who is relatively unknown to many Poles - Marie Rambert. Born in Warsaw, Marie was a trailblazer in modern dance and had a personal connection with Waclav Nizynski, which led to the revival of Nizynski's choreography for the Rite of Spring. Working with the renowned Ballets Russes, a famous Russian company, Marie Rambert later established the Rambert Company upon arriving in the UK, a highly regarded contemporary ballet group that continues to operate today. Her contributions to ballet were recognized with a CBE in the Coronation Honours of the British Empire in 1954, and she was further honored with a Damehood in 1962. Remaining active until her passing at the age of 94, Marie Rambert's legacy persists. While she may be relatively obscure in her home country, her name is integral to ballet literature in the UK.
